Tippmann team won by 800. World team dominated the field the entire day Sunday, but we also had a Colonel with two punches that was playing on the front lines and reinserting over and over.
So... When it all comes down to it, I feel the World team outplayed tippmann team, but because of some idiot, tippmann pulled off the win. |

tippmann pulled off the win. I'm flabbergasted. As a Tippmann player I agree that world played solid all day right to the end and had us hemmed in at the insertion most of the time. Most tippy players I talked to were really surprised by the outcome, like I said though, that world team colonel had two punches and kept reinserting, so that racked up the points for tippmann team. |

how the heck does someone get 2 punches!!!
thats just dumb. ive been playing 3 big games there for the past 5 years. and havent gotten a single punch. all it takes is common sense. (colonel with 2 punches, is 600 points per insertion) |

Sounds fishy......................Last year we found a Tippman player hatching out the same plan to help them win. They had a non tippman gun and a world col. tag that a friend (ref in play) from tippman team had decided to double punch. These circumstances just sound too similiar. I think everyone who played both days realizes the world team for the third year in a row handed you your ---. Oh well congrats Tippman. Just cause I think you tippy players heard it alot while you were being over run here it is again........FFFUUUUBBBAAARRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately FUBAR CM, stupidity can often accomplish what underhandedness cannot. There have been folks in alot of big games that have pulled those things, far worse actually...it's the nature of the game. All we can do is try to play hard and fair ourselves and hope for the best.
This is a tough game because the numbers on the field can be more out of whack than Day of the Rangers, yet no allowances are made. If world doesn't field enough players(in the past this occasionally happened) then tough on them and the same exact applies to Tippmann. However, as someone who was on the world team 9 times, had I been on a winning world team this year I wouldn't brag about handing anybody anything nor would I gloat. You can brag about individual sportsmanship if you like, especially the FUBAR guy who congratulated me on my pistol shooting after the 50 of you dug out the 5 of us and the world officer who raised a red flag and pulled his people back so red could insert and some real paintball could be played. Those are things the world team can be proud of. When you overmatch an opponent in a GAME in numbers, those are the kinds of things that reflect honor upon you and your team, not body counts. The fact that it was possible for Tippmann to win, even with a rogue colonel handicap on the world team, indicates to me that my former home, the World team played with some dignity and some sportsmanship for sure. GOOD ON YOU GUYS!!! Now has the Tippmann team ever done nice things like that, before anyone asks? YES, in the past I've gotten that kind of treatment as an overmatched world team player. Good honest players are the silent majority you never hear about, thankfully! Rob This post has been edited by AgentSmith: Sep 28 2009, 08:24 AM |

I caught him in the reg line sun morning with a players card with NO punches which he had accidentely gotten back without being punched, so he honestly didnt get the colonel rank thinking he was gonna have a punch. I remembered him though cause i only punched 2 players on sat. I caught him before the game started and punched his colonel tag so it carried over from sat. The first punch i can account for but I have no clue what the second punch was for. Maybe he got caught by logan over on the east insertion? p.s. I don't know what is going on, but in my mind world won. They decimated us on sunday. |

Good job Tippmann team! Yellow's own command brought them down. There is more then one dimension in regards to obtaining a win during these big games. Yellow (and their leadership) obviously didn't pay much attention to all of them and Tippmann got the win in an unconventional way.

I don't mind letting people know when we play good. Numbers in our favor or not. I can only speak for myself and I didn't have any circumstances of poor sportmanship this year unlike the incident we encountered last year.
I did have a heated disscussion with a colonel I shot when I dropped off the airplane, but we talked it out off the field and I think it ended much better when he realized the only person I shot was him and his young daughter and another kid shot the living heck out of my backside. Also kudos to the chap in the top of the highlands who graciously helped me (who was shooting at him) try to call for a paint check on myself after he thought he hit me. It was splatter, but we both yelled for the check and stopped shooting while I waited for the ref to wander my way. Till next year......... Chris |

It was his original tag. we have to turn them in to get our officers tag, when it was returned to him at the end of saturday they just forgot to punch a hole in it. I remembered him and i corrected it. |
p.s. I don't know what is going on, but in my mind world won. They decimated us on sunday.
Yes world team played really well on sunday, however, one must remember that tippmann held both west point AND bravo for most of the two quarters. Factor in the point percentages for those two bases versus say castle or sin city, which were less on sunday then on saturday to shake things up a bit, plus the "rogue colonel" and you've got a tippmann win. I do congratulate world though, they played with some excellent sportsmanship and talent. There was even a world player at the very end at tippmanns insertion point that was shaking the hands of every tippy player that came out and saying "good game" That impressed me a lot. So anyway, in my mind, tippmann won only because of bravo and west point. the colonel was only the icing on the cake |

World screwed up by not watching their own insertion point. That is our fault, and can not be blamed on anyone. The officer with the two punches happens to play for a team that was playing for Tippmann so some could question whether it was done on purpose, as most will agree its difficult to get 2 punches without knowingly doing it. Even if that is the case though then congrats to Tippmann for pulling it off. My advise is that we learn from our mistakes, and next year World covers all the necessary angles so we do not get suprised. I also heard that on Saturday a World officer handed his cash to the Tippmann team, this isnt confirmed, but I do know the description of the person they said did this does not match the officer running with 2 punches, so again just 1 more thing to watch out for next year, and no one to blame but ourselves.
I would like to know however how HSI staff would have handled the situation if say a World general noticed the officer with the punches, and asked the insertion staff to not allow him to insert so he could have his officer tags revoked? If our general had camped the insertion point would he have had the authority to stop this from happening? |
