Let me start with the people that are going to troll this post feel free!
Ok that is out of the way! I'm not looking to start drama with this post. But after our group played TWC 2012 (world team) everyone was like wow I never seen the back half of the field again, for some it has been 7 or 8 times of playing a big game at hsi. Myself I walked around the back half looking for some type action but not much to be found, last hour I slept in my jeep while the younger kids played till the end. Now that the new year is rolling an we are going to start saving for our events to attend this year. I've found myself asking do we do DotR,GC,MMG or TWC this year. To me it seems like the games are broken at time an no one knows how to fix it. Hell I almost took a nap in the village in till that Black Box of Death woke me up. (not true went to the jeep to nap) I know what it feels like to be trapped in the village from both sides. So are they broke at times or Do you feel they are just fine?
I feel that most of the game formats are broken with the amount of players attending the events.

Monster and twc are extremely similar formats just different methods of how teams are chosen.......and hasn't changed much in the way game is run in the years I have been there
Shields game is IMO is the format that could use the absolute most reinvention..... Or maybe even done away with and replaced with a new game
All together without the already negative game association........ Great concept failed execution.....
Global is my favorite game there as long as the no ally rule is enforced, it can very easily turn into another monster or TWC if not.
DOTR is a great game and I would love to see that one change dramatically before it gets routine and stale.....but i really do love that game.
It must be really hard to try to maintain the interest of so many different kinds of players and I do appreciate anyone's effort in trying to do so. But change is good and the spice of life

This year was especially boring after the first 30 minutes of each 'quarter' when the reds were pushed into their green zone and never got out except when enough yellow's walked away from the castle/village, then 10 minutes later it was back to the greenzone.
And i'm not a fan of shotgun starts, it makes the game way too linear.

There is a war on. The National Guard don't need us to practice on and there isn't any way to replace that sheer capacity. Noone could afford to run a fleet of deuce and a halfs for 5 games a year.
In my opinion...
I'd change the field. I'd have netted doublewagon wide lanes that came from the master side of the chrono and the far entrance to village. The master side would be netted on the field side to provide a new edge boundary. It would go around behind the highlands, along the current tape to west point. The Village side lanes would run along the current tape to east point, netted inside to make a new field boundary.
At West Point and East Point, Dead zones would be installed. As I noticed during SPPL, those garden wagons are everywhere. 10 tables inside a netted zone with hand pulled wagon parking that opened north and south with one reffed gate, then a tee.
Field dead zones would be assigned to the teams and all bases would always be up for grabs. Inserts including initial breakout could come from both the lot and the field dead zones. It would not be possible for a team to camp both inserts and guard their own.
Enough people would move to a field dead zone and operate from there all day to spread out the games again, IMO.

Parking: Waiting on buses or golf carts suck if your in the back half. They are great for people camping. I bring back parking wear the Xball fields are at the moment. Yes I would shut down the Xball event during Big games.
I like the shot gun start! An I'm not a runner at all. The problem is you cant Defend a open Green zone with out Two things Fire power an Height
Field Adjustments:
West part of field: I would run the boundary from the left entrance gate I would run a netted lane over to Highlands I turn the Highland base into a insertion base I would also put Duel Tippmann 98c on the wall (like the old Castle Rock guns you new to stay away) Turn Tippy towers into the point base.
East part: I would adj the village road to the west and build a new insertion base ( Fire Base style) also adding Dual Markers on its walls just off the edge of the village.
School Buses Chop the top an hold on!
Just a quick thought

Does this mean that Tanks that are caught shooting hot will actually get some form of penalty? Same thing with tanks bonus balling ppl from behind after the person raises their hands? (watched this happen ALOT with tanks coming in from the EAST spawn if the team inserting there was fighting for the village, the tank would spawn and just bonus ball the crap out of everyone from behind.

Ever since i have taken over I have caught the tanks that do that and I have addressed it. As for a penalty yes because they are no different "really" than a player. We At Hell Surviors don't have a tollerance for hot shooting guns un-sportsmanlike acts. We are out there to have a safe fun time.
